Live Shell and Live File Explorer
Overview
Live Shell and Live File Explorer allow you to perform direct, immediate actions on a device directly from the device page, via the action buttons in the top right corner.
Live Shell
Live Shell
To open Live Shell, click the Start live shell button (which resembles a command prompt) in the top right corner of the device page.
Live shell will open in a popup window within the same browser tab.
You can enter commands in the Live Shell and get an immediate response. The commands are executed immediately as a true remote shell session. Keystrokes are passed through to the live shell exactly as entered, so many common keyboard shortcuts will function as expected, including Ctrl-R.
For a reference list of common PowerShell shortcuts that will work with the built-in PSReadLine module in Windows, see this blogpost:

You can select the shell type in the top right corner.
| OS | Shell types available |
| Windows | PowerShell 5, CMD |
| macOS | Bash, zsh |
You can also select click the arrow icon to open Live Shell in a new tab, or the X icon to end the session.
The session can also be terminated from within the shell (e.g. by an exit command or equivalent).
Live File Explorer
To open Live File Explorer, click the Start file explorer button (which resembles a file folder 📁) in the top right corner of the device page.
File explorer will open in a popup window within the same browser tab.
To open File explorer in a new tab, click the arrow icon in the top right corner.
To close File explorer, click the X icon in the top right corner.
Per-file and per-folder actions can be accessed via the three vertical dots (kebab) menu.
Available actions include:
- Copy file/folder name
- Copy file/folder path
- Download a file
Additional file and folder features are planned in a future release.
To upload a file to the current directory, click the Upload button, browse to a file on your computer, and click Open.
