PDQ Connect Device Filters

Introducing Device Filters

Device Filters allow you to organize and sort your devices in PDQ Connect.

Configuring Device Filters

To configure a Device Filter: Select Filters while viewing the Devices page to open the Filters menu, configure your desired filters and click Apply to apply the filters to the Devices page or Save as Group to save the configured filters as a new Device Group.

Note: Selecting Create Group with the Groups menu expanded will display the same Filters menu.

When a Device Filter is applied to the Device page, a number will appear over the Filter button, indicating the number of applied filters.

Device Filter Fields

Device Filters have four configurable fields, CategoryColumnComparison, and Value.

(1) Category: The Category field represents the data category to be filtered.

(2) Column: The Column field represents the property of the computer to be compared against the Value field.

(3) Comparison: The Comparison field is how the column is compared to the Value.

(4) Value: The Value field is compared against the Column field.

Filter Menu Options

Add Filter: Adds an additional Filter to the main Filter Group.

Add Filter Group: Creates a new Filter Group, nested within the main Filter Group.

Clear Filters: Clears all the configured Filters.

Save as Group: Saves the configured Filters as a new Device Group.

Apply: Applies the configured Filters to the Devices page.

Device Filter Logic

PDQ Connect uses the OR, AND, NOR, and NAND logic gates to evaluate multiple Device Filters and Filter Groups.

OR: Devices will be included if the criteria of any of the Filters is met.

Using OR between Filter Groups will include devices that meet the criteria of any of the Filter Groups.

AND: Devices will be included if the criteria of all Filters is met.

Using AND between Filter Groups will include devices that meet the criteria of all of the Filter Groups.

NOR: Devices will be included if the criteria of any of the Filters is not met.

Using NOR between Filter Groups will include devices that do not meet the criteria of any of the Filter Groups.

NAND: Devices will be included if the criteria of all Filters is not met.

Using NAND between Filter Groups will include devices that do not meet the criteria of all of the Filter Groups.

Filter Groups

Filter Groups are groups of Filters that use the OR, AND, NOR, and NAND logic gates to determine how the Filter Groups are to be evaluated together. Filter Groups can be nested to create complex filters with increasing granularity.

Device Filter Examples
