Starting a PDQ Connect Trial and Verifying Your Account
This article explains how to start a PDQ Connect trial, what to expect during signup, which features are initially restricted (and why), and how to verify your account to access all Connect features.
Start a trial for a new PDQ Connect tenant
If a teammate has already started a trial for your organization, ask them to invite you instead of creating a new tenant.
- Go to https://www.pdq.com/trial/connect/.
- Enter your business email and select Start a trial.
- Complete the short form about you and your organization, then select Continue.
- Enter the four-character code sent to your email or choose Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft. If you use SSO, make sure the account email matches the address shown in the email field.
-
Finish by setting up MFA (required). This might not happen until you attempt to log back into your PDQ Connect trial. For more information on MFA, see Configure Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Settings. For more information on PDQ Connect security, see Product security - PDQ Connect.
SMS is only available for the following countries: Australia, Canada, France, United Kingdom, United States
Your PDQ account works across PDQ products and the PDQ Portal. Avoid using shared inboxes; invite teammates after you sign up. There is no per-user cost.
Trial tier and duration
- Tier: All trials begin at the Premium tier, but certain Premium features remain locked until verification.
- Length: PDQ Connect trials last 14 days.
Initial trial limitations (before verification)
The trial is for the full version of Connect Premium with certain features that require verification to protect customers and the broader internet community.
Why some features are restricted
Remote management tools can be used for harm as easily as for good. Verifying account identity helps ensure these capabilities are used responsibly and protects the wider internet community.
Until you verify your account, the following features are restricted:
Device limit: Trials and paid tenants are limited to 250 devices unless lifted by PDQ Sales. Verification does not change this cap. To increase the device limit, contact sales@pdq.com.
Verify your account to access all Connect features
PDQ uses Stripe to securely verify your account. You’ll take a selfie and scan the front and back of your government-issued ID. Verification typically completes within one business day.
How to verify
- Open PDQ Connect and start the verification flow from the prompt or banner.
- Follow the instructions to complete identity verification with Stripe Identity.
- Once approved, refresh the Connect page to see newly unlocked features.
What unlocks after verification
Verification unlocks all Connect features that are restricted at the start of the trial: custom packages, remote commands, remote desktop, and API access.
If verification fails or you cancel
You can try again later. If you are unable or unwilling to complete identity verification, contact sales@pdq.com for assistance.
Prefer self-serve
The self-serve verification flow is the fastest path to unlocking features. Contact Sales only if you can’t complete verification or if you need the 250-device limit lifted.

About the 250-device limit
- The 250-device cap applies to both trials and paid Connect tenants.
- Identity verification does not change the device cap.
- To lift the cap, contact sales@pdq.com. Sales can also help lift restricted features if you can’t complete verification.
Starting a trial of a specific tier as an existing customer
If you’re an existing Connect customer and want to trial a higher tier, you can:
- Start a trial from the billing portal, or
- Start a trial within Connect (for example, from the Vulnerabilities page by selecting Start 14-day trial).
